Recent activities:

July 2nd, 2009, Dr Xinyu Zhu from Dow Chemical Company is going to visit and gave a seminar on "LCD backlight films".

June 23rd, 2009, Dr. Peter Knoll, chair of Otto Lehmann foundation, visited UCF and gave a talk on "Discovery of Liquid Crystals".

June 15th, 2009, SID UCF Chapter arranged a visit to Projection summit 2009.

March 10th, 2009, Eric Gardner from Moxtek Inc. gave a speech on "What’s new in wire-grid polarizers? "

February 27th, 2009, John Zhong from Apple gave a talk on "Mobile Display Development".

February 23rd, Brij N. Agrawal,  Distinguished Professor from Naval Postgraduate School gave a speech on "Optical Beam Control".

November 3-6, the International Display Research Conference (IDRC) was held at the Student Union, University of Central Florida, Orlando, Florida.

· October 10th, 2008, Tsuyoshi CHIBA from NITTO  DENKO Technical  Corporation gave a talk on "Fundamentals of optical films for LCDs"

· August 7th, 2008, Dr. Terry Dorschner from Raytheon visited CREOL and gave a talk on "Adaptive Photonic Phase Locked Elements -- A DARPA program for Electronic Laser Beam Control".

· July 31st, 2008, Dr. Kenneth Li, the president and CEO at Wavien. Inc, visited UCF and gave a talk on "Preservation and Enhancement of Brightness in Arc Lamp and LED Illumination Systems".

· June 12th, 2008, SID UCF branch arranged a visit to Florida Solar Energy Center.

· May 16th, 2008, Dr. Tomasz R. Wolinski gave a talk on "POLARIZATION OPTICS OF ANISOTROPIC MICROSTRUCTURED FIBERS".
